Christening the New Deck with Pilates;  February 24, 2019

Greetings Dear Friends,

What a glorious year is unfolding, we are having an action packed February-March and are reaping the results of many of the projects we have started. We hope life is popping for you and your dreams are becoming manifest (if not consider a Harmonious Well-being weekend with us to look at your desires, health, and resistances so you can start living the life you want).

Our good friend Celia Beaumont popped in from Mossel Bay for three days this last week and gave introductory Pilates classes for the patients who were staying at the farm and some of the patients that live in town. We all learned the new(for us) and slow (to introduce us gently) paced Pilates routine that introduced us to the basics of Pilates. Long time Pilates instructor, Celia, says Pilates is a unique combination of techniques from yoga, martial arts, rehabilitation and structure of the body. She says while Yoga concentrates on the flow of the body, breath and energies; Pilates is concerned with the body engineering and structures. I found it a delightful gentle approach that really helps relax, strengthen and sort out the body and its joints in our short three day introduction (advanced practice creates wonders). Both Yoga and Pilates are Body/Mind practices that remind you about your bodies potential and assist with injuries and well-being. Give it a try and find something that keeps you in tip top function.

From the N2 (Cape Town towards George) Take the first Swellendam exit (left). This is the R60. Proceed (1km+) through the 4 way stop and continue approximately 2-3 km and look for a sign for the Hermitage. Make a hard right (270 degrees). After the turn continue about 200 meters and turn left at first road (dirt). Proceed 300 meters and turn left into Red Roan Ranch and go to bottom of hill (the main house).
