Open Farm: View 22 exclusive rare Straight Egyptian Arabian Horses and our Boerperd crosses. Join us while you are visiting the Swellendam Agricultural show from 9am to 4pm each day to view these treasures. Call Jim 071 959 0786 for directions and more information.
We are at the mouth of the Hermitage Valley just outside Swellendam near Wildebraam on the Hermitage road off the intersection of R60 and Van Eden Street about 2km from downtown.

zuid-monThe Red Roan Ranch has assembled some of the rarest blood lines in South Africa and is
dedicated to breeding pure straight Egyptian Arabian horses tracing their lineage to the EAO and the desert. Dedicated to the fine lines of Badeia*, Farheida,  Azeda, Joni Tahir and others out of Ansata, Morafic, Shams el Farin,  Fagr, Nafiz, AK and other top blood lines our mares exemplify the ideal of the strong, athletic, vital, powerful yet agile desert horse partners that are so responsible for the fine tuning of the thoroughbred and other racing lines. Our stallions include Zameel from Badeia, and son’s of Arabest Khalid,  Pasha,  Shazzam, Omar El Shaker, Sheihk and Ansata Halim.

Breeding with a difference, we match mares and stallions for conformation and desirable characteristics of performance and temperament with exemplary blood lines as a beginning. We then couple the best stable practices in calming, serene pastoral settings of the Hermitage valley, an essentially Africa Horse Sickness free region of the Western Cape with Chiropractic, homeopathic treatments and Natural Horsemanship practices to raise curious, intelligent, courageous and passionate partners in the horse human equation. Healthy horses with a noticeable difference!

Chiropractic treatment, with horses as with humans, removes central nervous system and peripheral interference and creates magnificently grounded and powerful horses. The horses are more confident, healthier and grow up to be the horses that they were meant to be. Many of the common ailments and annoying habits that a horse naturally picks up can be avoided and the horse can focus on endurance, dressage or other events without the starts and stops that plague many horses.

Visit the stud farm and see the difference. We offer onsite accommodations or stay in a nearby B&B and enjoy the Swellendam Overberg.
