Stillness – How do we achieve this in our modern fast paced world?

Stillness is an inner power act which we have choice over like our joy, happiness, peace, and calm. We choose it or not. We may not be used to choosing these attributes or even believe they are determined by what’s occurring outside of us. Yet we have the power to choose them. The tortoise that visited us today after a 2-3 year absence is a metaphor not only for longevity, see Dr. Rivene’ book “Secret Wisdom of the African Animal Spirit”, but for the safe and still inner refuge we all carry with us.
The tortoise carries its protective safe home with it and whenever threatened just retreats inside to protect itself in its hard shell. We also can goes inside, wherein resides the Supreme Self – that part of ourselves that is connected, protective, nourishing, and wise beyond the human experience.
Daily first thing in the morning, 5am is a magical time to do this, draw inward to your silent, still, inner solitude before you contaminate your inner safe refuge with devices, social media, emails, news and demands of the outer world.
Join me in the stillness challenge for the next 66 days, wake preferably before sunrise, and enter the calm inner stillness, solitude and silence of your inner sanctum for five to ten minutes before you do anything else and see how you feel.
