Rest and Recovery balancing Intense Work

Rest and Recovery, amazing Fireworks over our hotel in the Danube.

Rest and recovery takes us to Budapest as I write this. We are staying on a houseboat on the Danube River. Getting much needed rest and recharging of our batteries. We know we need to rest after working intensely for the last three months, but I can’t resist sharing in between the travel, European bath spas and inspiring cultural interaction that spark my creativity and recovery.

Budapest is celebrating their independence from communist rule, and they are putting on one of the most fantastic fireworks show that either Zaida or I have ever seen. Over a 3 KM course of the Danube River through the center of Budapest they have 4 barges loaded with fireworks; synchronized and choreographed in a 45-minute spectacular.

They even have a new fireworks effect that moves in the shape of a stag (and other figures) across the sky (maybe using drones).

This lavish fireworks display shows the creative, inspiration, and vibrant forward-looking inspiration to freely create a vibrant future of a people long held back and seriously hindered to express, build, grow and expand.

They put on the most phenomenal fireworks display I’ve ever seen. I’m afraid these pictures do not show its grandeur.

rest and recover 2The grand spa in Budapest near the chain bridge was phenomenal a must!

Earlier in Berlin to start our rest and recovery.

We saw an amazing rebuilding in Berlin and a tribute to human perseverance and recovery. Viewing the remains of the Wall was sobering. Yet reminds me of the persistence of humanity to move towards thriving even in a repressive regime and persevere even through tragedy. It has now been almost 80 years since the defeat of Hitler and Germany is emerging with a spirit of youth, harmony and growth. Leaving behind the trauma and destruction to create new and greater good.

The old rails on the bridge over river Spree and the east side gallery where they painted inspiring scenarios over the Wall (the dividing wall of oppression) to signify a new Berlin.

The impressive Brandenburg Gate and the new modern Train station.

Here are some of the great sites and inspiring visuals we have encountered. From the river spree the numismatic museum on museum island (great museums), The Reichstag (the parliament for Germany) and beautiful fountains in the squares. Berlin was quite a contrast with some of the older buildings, damaged objects, and checkpoint charley evoking the war years and destruction of much of the city. To current Berlin 80 years later a vibrant, rebuilt, modern city and youthful hopeful dynamic.

Rest and Recovery in Prague while exploring old Europe

Prague is a delightful older European city that was also under Soviet rule for many years and is reinventing itself. We enjoyed our time there and visited the sites and just enjoyed the classic charm of old-world Europe.

The lovely old cathedrals at the castle (St. Vitas) and the Grand Ave from the museum. Another great museum that gives a great snapshot of years of the country’s history.

The new shopping mall in a converted train station, I believe. We had a great Asian meal just outside this market along the avenue. The amazing astronomical clock in the town square. On the hour is tells you’re the zodiac signs for the day.

Our Seminar St Gallen and rest and recover Lake Konstanz

We are off to St. Gallen in Switzerland for a seminar to get certified in Reconnective Healing. And we wish to visit the world heritage Abbey of St Gall library

rest and recovery 8

Our seminar both Dr. Rivene and I got certified in Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection. We visited the Abbey of St. Gallen Library a world heritage site that is quite amazing.

rest and recovery 9

We spent our last 4 days in Lake Konstanz to complete our rest and recovery and went to the Rhine falls. The falls cross a large river that drops several hundred feet under a very impressive castle. Great site and wonderful waterfall energy and negative ions to refresh and revitalize.

Our Reconnection seminar was great, see our future blog next month describing it and the magic of the reconnection®. Dr. Rivene is back in the office now (we returned on the 3rd).

Regards and remember to balance intense productivity with rest and recovery,

Jim and Dr. Z

Have a great September

From the N2 (Cape Town towards George) Take the first Swellendam exit (left). This is the R60. Proceed (1km+) through the 4 way stop and continue approximately 2-3 km and look for a sign for the Hermitage. Make a hard right (270 degrees). After the turn continue about 200 meters and turn left at first road (dirt). Proceed 300 meters and turn left into Red Roan Ranch and go to bottom of hill (the main house).
