21 DAY CLEAN, PURGE, BALANCE
21 day clean, purge, balance
17 April 2020 Day 22 (Bonus 1) – Wellness, longevity and remission.
Welcome to Day 22 (Bonus 1) – Are you owning and implementing the steps for longevity and well-being?
As a bonus we will look at longevity and healing. In researching the studies on centenarian cultures around the world and longevity research I have isolated several key factors that we have introduced you to over the last 21 days. The reason I have chosen the long term centenarian studies and longevity research is that they have studied groups that have demonstrated the results of diet on health, productivity, and wellness for over 100 years of application. Long term results are absent with the latest fad diets like paleo, keto, and others that are based on a theory that is unique and different but may or may not be valid for long term results. I have also included Kelly Turners results in studying individuals who have successfully turned around chronic diseases.
“Genetic or dietary interventions can not only delay diseases but actually eliminate a major portion of chronic diseases in mice, monkeys, and even humans to extend longevity.” Dr. Valter Longo, noted longevity researcher. Longo indicates that the mostly plant based diet he recommends does not only lead to optimal weight and health but also provides strong protection against the major ailments of old age, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The basics of longevity and healing from various researchers is:
The nine common steps that people who had radical remissions of chronic illness did are (note only two of them are physical changes, the rest are mental, emotional and spiritual):
1. Radically changing their diet. *
2. Taking control of (for) your health.
3. Following your intuition
4. Using Herbs and Supplements. *
5. Releasing suppressed emotions.
6. Increasing positive emotions.
7. Embracing social support.
8. Deepening your spiritual connection.
9. Having a strong reason for living.
Nine lessons on the lifestyle of people living in blue zones:
• Moderate, regular physical activity.
• Life purpose.
• Stress reduction.
• Moderate caloric intake.
• Plant-based diet.
• Moderate alcohol intake, especially wine (low alcohol content).
• Engagement in spirituality or religion.
• Engagement in family life.

The summary of the Longo “Longevity Diet” is as follows:
• Eat mostly plant-based foods, with occasional low-mercury fish or other seafood (2-3 times a week) and lots of nuts and olive oil
• Generally eat modest amounts of protein, whether it’s plant-based or animal-based
• Very limited or no dairy; goat’s milk and cheese are okay
• Minimize saturated fats and sugar
• Eat foods from your ancestral homelands as long as they are otherwise healthy
• Eat 2-3 meals a day, ideally two solid meals and one snack, in a 10-12 hour window, and don’t eat 3-4 hours before bedtime
• Take multivitamins every three days
• A few times a year, if you are under age 65-70 and otherwise healthy, do a five-day water fast or a “fasting-mimicking diet,” which includes food but mimics the benefits of actual fasting.
A few additions:
• Belief is important more than 1/3 of all medical cures are due to placebo effect.
• Perception is a key for epigenetic actions that re-write genes and give you healing ability.
• Self-care and stress reduction through meditation are very important and go beyond to spirituality.
• Supplements should be used to supplement imbalance, but not continued beyond their use, herbs and medicines were not meant for continuous usage.
Next time we will look at where we stand in relationship to this with a short questionnaire I have developed.
Take Away (Bonus 1): Consider the daily actions of centenarians who enjoy well-being, joy and happiness.

21 Day Balance 7

April 15, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

21 day clean, purge, balance
16 April 2020 Day 21 (Balance 7) – A Balanced Day
Welcome to Day 21 (Balance 7) – Bringing balance forward in your life each day.
We have explored a number of topics and practices in the last 21 days. A virus asks us to do four things when it visits us, that we have been negligent of, they are: to clean, to purge, to balance, and to rest. It is a good thing that it reminds us. It reminds us, to mind our wellness on a daily basis – to take care of our foundation of well-being on a continuous basis. Today as you prepare to move forward with your journey of life, consider how and where you can consciously support these four pillars of wellness in your life.
We have offered a daily eating and care plan that we go over with all our patients; this is a good beginning. With a morning ritual of detoxification, alignment, meditation, breath work, light breakfast, big lunch, light dinner, exercise, and evening routine to slow down prepare for sleep, meditation, breathing, alignment. To this core we can add elements of our 21 day routine to expand and own what we have experienced and wish to continue. Review the list of our 21 day takeaways and consider adding them to your daily, weekly, annual routines.
Clean 1) – Start the day with lemon and warm water and eat light high water content foods until noon.
2) – Joy start your body and lymphatic’s with a self message each morning.
3): Luxuriously sleep (in bed by 10am and wake at sunrise) to maximize health and vigor.
4): Hypercharge health with tongue, nostril and ear cleaning – clear brain and senses.
5): Energize and inspire yourself for longevity with movement and breathe each day.
6): Begin with gratitude and ask for what you truly desire to benefit yourself and others.
7): Be more in your life (80%) & only from alignment add the action (20%) & see what you can create.

Purge 1): Clear the clutter for more effectiveness, let go of the resistance.
2): Fasting allow the body to naturally detoxify and then rebuild to increase longevity.
3): Release unwanted habits; embrace your real self in your heart center for contentment & fulfillment.
4): Impeccable words of truth set a force of love to please and increase the flow of what we focus on.
5): Become aware of your natural tendencies and start to replace them with love based responses, using tapping and NET to program the subconscious mind.
6): Go inside to find the real expert who resides within where the Supreme Self resides.
7): Reclaim your passion and energy by releasing incompletes and resistance.

Balance 1): In the stillness inside me is a calming peace that is always accessible.
2): Eat real living food (as nature gives) in all colors, and the six tastes for abundant balanced life force.
3): Adopting the characteristic of child-like play as an adult keeps your mind and body flexible, young and spontaneous. It renews mind/body and reverses the aging process.
4): Change your perceptions; change your life for renewal and regeneration.
5): Live life fully, unfolding your great purpose for being with confidence and happiness.
6): Take the journey of consciousness, dive deep into the stillness of not doing -relax in your true being.
7): Your daily actions become your habits which become your beliefs, choose what supports well-being.

Rest: What do you do to ensure your rest? Daily, weekly, yearly – time off, sleep, vacation, re-creation.
Stay in balance remembering: In positive emotion I allow my complete alignment and communication with Source Energy I reclaim the balance in my physical and mental body, living in the fullness of my well-being. I maintain my balance and well-being easily with consistent good feeling thoughts. I am aware of my emotional state and whenever I dip towards fear based emotions there is nothing more important than restoring my high flying positive emotional state as quickly as I can.
Take Away (Balance 7): Your daily actions become your habits which become your beliefs, choose what supports well-being.
Practice this for 21 days to see the effects first hand. Continue the practices from previous days for the entire program to fully experience the benefits.

21 Day Balance 6

April 14, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

21 day clean, purge, balance
15 April 2020 Day 20 (Balance 6) – Awareness
Welcome to Day 20 (Balance 6) – the three levels of consciousness, going beyond the everyday “reality.”
Awareness goes beyond the social “reality” we accept as the “real” world which we have made through agreement. In reality we have dominion over our life and what we aspire to achieve through our awareness and employment of our innate curiosity, intelligence, purpose, motivation, resilience, self worth, self esteem, and diligence which produce desire and activation of our infinite potential. When we see beyond man-made limitations our enlightened consciousness offers absolute freedom.
There are three levels of consciously, yet many never proceed past the first level. They are 1) the ego personality, the everyday reality – how we want the world to see us; 2) the unconscious self, where we stuff the negatives we don’t want others to see. Yet the unconscious self also contains creativity and sensitivity that is a source of intuition and distills the essence of life experiences to inner fulfillment even in the face of terror and pain of the past; and 3) the “true self”, which is close to the source, our pure consciousness, the eternal wholeness and infinite potential of co-creation. The state of “I am” of observing still silence and the pure consciousness of no activity before activity.
First step is to stop conscious thinking and chill, not doing just observing, so your true self emerges. This is achieved in meditation when we abstain from conscious mental activity by focusing on our breath or a mantra (like So Hum) and observing the stillness that comes through first in small glimpses and with practice expands. It is often referred to as the open spaces between thoughts that contain nothing yet out of them (the void) occurs the next thought.
An important part of this awareness we are developing is to be in life but not swayed by it. The state of equanimity where you observe without craving what you like and do not push away things you do not want. You simply observe from a relaxed being of wholeness, as integrated body and mind, no thought, and no striving. A hard place to be in the beginning that gradually opens the way for a deep sense of being in your existence and consciousness, which are actually one, as the ego identity falls away and the true self emerges from the silence. Let go of achieving, just take the time to touch the stillness and all will come.
Take Away (Balance 6): Begin your journey of consciousness, diving deeply into the stillness of not doing to relax in your true being.
Practice this for 21 days to see the effects first hand. Continue the practices from previous days for the entire program to fully experience the benefits.

21 Day Balance 5

April 13, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

21 day clean, purge, balance
14 April 2020 Day 19 (Balance 5) – Purpose
Welcome to Day 19 (Balance 5) – Knowing your purpose in life provides fulfillment and a reason to live.
As Kelly Turner noted in her study of people who have achieved radical remissions of life threatening diseases has discovered, people who survive disease and traumatic events have a strong purpose in life in common. Knowing your purpose in life provides fulfillment as well as a strong reason to live. Your life’s purpose gives life meaning and joy. In popular vernacular, when you lose your game you lose you will to live.
Yet one’s life purpose seems to be a mystery that many find frustrating and hard to define. Jim had a business professor that had the class write their obituaries and look back on what they hoped to accomplish and leave as a legacy. This professor believed if you asked an American who they were and what their purpose was they would list the jobs they have and accomplishments they made – a small part of who they really are. He believed that a European would answer that she/he would not know until they had lived life. And this is one of the keys; we create our life and our purpose incrementally as we live it. It is a moving target that is refined as we live. The theme may remain similar but the focus and details expand.
We do know that our ultimate basis of life is Happiness. As the spiritual master Abdu’l-Baha said: “As to spiritual happiness, this is the true basis of the life of man, … life is created for happiness, not for sorrow; for pleasure, not for grief. Happiness is life; sorrow is death. Spiritual happiness is life eternal.” This may be our best advice and guidance to finding our purpose, does it create happiness? And that is our journey in life to discover and live the life we are meant to live full of joy and happiness. Notwithstanding the moments of contrast that spur us with increased resolve to launch new desires for a better life and the fulfillment of an ever-evolving and expansive life purpose.
Today I investigate what is my life purpose. Start by entering a short meditation to center and ground yourself. Close your eyes and do 8-12 full yogic breaths deeply breathing in to chest and belly and out, come to a resting place with eyes closed for another couple of minutes and sit in stillness returning attention to the breath or a simple mantra like “So” on inspiration and “Hum” on exhalation for a couple of minutes. Then open your eyes taking a piece of paper and writing at the top “What is my life’s purpose?” Write the first answer that comes to mind on the paper. Then ask again and write the next answer. Continue with this process until the answer feels right, hits you emotionally as the true right answer (maybe you cry at its simplicity and rightness). Don’t stop until this occurs, you may have to write 100 answers, 500, or more but when you exhaust the surface answers it will reveal itself. Do over several days until it feels right. When you find your true purpose it will feel joyful and make you happy.
Now the fun begins (continues) as you take your Hero’s journey to becoming. In reality the journey uncovers and expands what we already truly are at our deep inner core. The knowing of it, however, can give us much confidence and solace on our journey living life fully.
Take Away (Balance 5): Live life fully, unfolding your great purpose for being with confidence and happiness.
Practice this for 21 days to see the effects first hand. Continue the practices from previous days for the entire program to fully experience the benefits.

21 Day Balance 4

April 12, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

21 day clean, purge, balance
13 April 2020 Day 18 (Balance 4) – Perception
Welcome to Day 18 (Balance 4) – Holding a perception that supports the story you want to hold.
The mind influences every cell in the body, by consciously focusing attention and changing behaviors we can decrease biological age, weakness, and lack of immunity. Modern science is verifying the role of thoughts and our perception of the environment/events on the production of hormones, proteins and the unfoldment of our body. Dr. Bruce Lipton says that Epigenetic’s verifies that based on our perception of the environment a single DNA blueprint for “a” protein can make 30,000 different proteins to dynamically adapt to the environment we find ourselves in. They have found some individuals born with defective genes are able to turn on production of proteins to restore functioning of the body even thought the gene is defective.
So how we think about our life and events is very important. Dr. Lipton says: Our thoughts can heal us or our thoughts can kill us. How do you act on this information?
1) Work with Dr. Rivene or an NET doctor for the most rapid and direct ways to change beliefs and start to develop healthy behaviors. Dr. Rivene works with all her patients to tease out hidden and dangerous beliefs and perceptions. As they surface the Net processes remove the charge (neutralizing the old belief) and a new healthier belief is adopted. Jim experienced this first-hand about twenty years ago when Dr. Rivene found a time bomb that was set to trigger in his mid fifties that probably would have caused a heart attack. He did the work to reverse it and still felt a little release of energy in the mid fifties that was mild and life affirming instead of a heart attack. (break in letter)
2) And identify perceptions and beliefs you have that don’t suit you. Craft healthier stories you want to live and use tapping (link on website) to install them into your subconscious. Tap the affirmations Dr. Rivene gives you and maybe some affirmations you like below or that you make:

21 Day Balance 3

April 11, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

12 April 2020 Day 17 (Balance 3) – Play
Welcome to Day 17 (Balance 3) – Reclaiming the openness and wonder of playing in the world.
Play is a vital element of recreating ourselves on a daily basis. Watch young children playing and you’ll see the free spirited openness, wonder, innocence, and delight they approach the world with. Adopting the characteristics as an adult can counter the years of restriction and limitations we have adopted through our life lessons in fitting in with peers, business, and so on.
Today find something that allows you to feel childlike characteristics for instance: flexible, open, joyful, spontaneous, creative, fearless, agenda less, take the road less travelled, taking risks (physical and emotional), remembering your inner child, self-investigating, and just being. Choose one thing that helps you remember and be childlike (ask your inner girl or boy what she or he would like to do) and do it today and choose something to do every day that reminds you and reconnects you to this part of yourself. Perhaps it is eating your favorite food (ice cream, popcorn), jumping rope, climbing a tree, dancing, walking in nature, gardening, coloring a picture, people watching, or whatever. Dr. Rivene likes to ask her inner little girl and saw a room filled with helium balloons with dangling strings that she feels caress her as she walks through the room.
Whatever you decide approach it with courage, from joy, wonder, no agenda or concern, no limits, no restrictions, and revel in the joy of just being – loving yourself and loving the experience. Resting in the place of yourself that just is, always present, without striving, comparing or directing that loves you just as you are in the moment. Play in the freedom of your garden of delight a little each day. God or Source has created the Universe as our playground to investigate and to self-investigate which allows us to become who we mean to be. Through play we try on our roles in happiness and bring them from imagined play to fruition in ourselves and the world.
Take Away (Balance 3): Adopting the characteristic of child-like play as an adult keeps your mind and body flexible, young and spontaneous. It renews mind/body and reverses the aging process.
Practice this for 21 days to see the effects first hand. Continue the practices from previous days for the entire program to fully experience the benefits.

21 Day Balance 2

April 9, 2020/0 Comments/in awareness/consciousness, Ayurveda, Dr Rivene, Dr. Rivene and Jim Montrose, food, wellness/by Jim Montrose

21 day clean, purge, balance
11 April 2020 Day 16 (Balance 2) – Food to Balance
Welcome to Day 16 (Balance 2) – Eat well; increase wellness, feel centered, and healthy when you eat for life.
“If you eat living food, the same will quicken you, but if you kill your food, the dead food will kill you also. For life comes only from life, and from death comes always death.”
Essene Gospel of Peace
You are what you eat. In modern times this reminds us to focus on living foods that renew and revitalize the body and avoid dead foods that accelerate aging and increase entropy (disorder). Dr. Rivene has always taught patients to eat “Love” foods, those alive with life force, and avoid “Fear” foods, foods devoid of life. Eliminate canned, frozen, preserved foods, micro-waved, old, and highly processed foods preferring fresh fruits, nut, grains, and vegetable in season, and freshly prepared foods as close to nature as possible.
Alive (love based foods)* Dead (fear based foods)
Fresh in season and local fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legume, Living water (from fresh squeezed juice consumed after squeezing) Canned, bottled, frozen, preserved, micro-waved, processed, meat, artificially flavor, sodas, candies, etc.
Freshly prepared foods leftovers
Eat from the rainbow of colors to insure a range of anti-oxidants and micro-nutrients.
Eat the Colors of the Rainbow
Red: Tomatoes, watermelon, radicchio, peppers, red grapes, beets, red cabbage, strawberries, currants
Orange/yellow: Squash, carrots, peppers, sweet potato (yam), pumpkin, papaya, mango, peach, nectarine
Green: Spinach, Swiss chard, green figs, broccoli, kale, peas, avocado, greens, cabbage, watercress, rocket
Purple/blue: Plums, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, eggplant w/ skin
To fit the needs of your body’s constitution (dosha) eat all six tastes sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent at meals (join our Happy Foods (link) class in May to learn more or sprinkle your food with your dosha churna (link) available at the office).
Eat all six tastes to balance your body
Sweet, salty, and sour to tonify in moderation, excess lowers metabolism. Rice, squash, celery, sea weed, lemon, fermented foods, etc.
Pungent, bitter, and astringent to reduce inflammation and increase metabolism. Radishes, peppers, spinach, greens, lentils, lettuce, mustard greens and powder, ginger, etc.

Practice this for 21 days to see the effects first hand. Continue the practices from previous days for the entire program to fully experience the benefits.
Take Away (Balance 2): Eat real living food (like nature provides) in all colors, and the six tastes for abundant balanced life force.
